BE YOURSELF, BABE

Hi! I know it's been a while since I've posted, but things are really taking up my time lately.

Today I have my 11th day of radiation. Only 17 more days left. Radiation is not bad. The first day they make a form for your upper body and each time you go in, they have you lie on a hard table and fit yourself into the mold. Then they adjust the big round machine that goes over and around each side so that the Magic Marker markings and tattoos  (yup, I've got TATS!) line up and then the machine does the rest. It is not painful or loud. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes. The only hard part is that you have to lay perfectly still. Let's say it all together . . .  you have to lay perfectly still.  That reminds me of my horrible experience with the M.R.I. a few years back.

Hey! Good news! I'm starting to grow sproutlets on my head. You know, little sprouts of hair. It's been 7 or 8 weeks since my last chemo, so IT'S ABOUT TIME!  The new hair is not coming in curly like it did last time, and it is a pure white color. Take a look. I'll try and keep update pictures coming.

It's so soft. And feels like baby chick fluff. Oh, and take note of the weird eyebrows. I haven't developed a talent for drawing on natural looking brows. Hopefully the real ones, along with the eyelashes, will appear soon!

Things are going well with The Woodbridge Building. I have had some nice events at the hall, and have several more reservations . . . even for November and December holiday parties and dinners. There are even some people locking in for graduation parties in June.

I have been having a ball working on the fall decorations for the great room and the front porch.

Yesterday, a local autism group held  a nice get-together there, and had bounce houses for the kids,  on the grounds behind the building. I went down  early for a few minutes, when the organizers were setting up the food, etc., and it looked like they did a very nice job. Thank goodness the sun was shining, the temperature was in the mid 50's, and the wind wasn't blowing hard. The day before, it was in the 40's and the wind gusts were up to 40 mph! brrrrr

It's been a while since we've seen anything of Little J. Here's a recent picture of my alter-ego. She is showing you how she is imploding. When you lose a certain amount of weight, evidently excess skin seems to hang. And then wrinkles develop (or are just more noticeable now). NOTE: She and I both need to order a 55-gallon barrel of Crepe Erase, that they advertise on TV.

On a very serious note, remember to vote in the Mid-term election which will be here before we know it. Your vote matters!!!

    Janene...

... was diagnosed with breast cancer on November 11, 2013. This is a place for all of the people who love and care about her to get the information about her treatment and her personal experience of kicking cancer's ass, (sometimes from her daughter's perspective). It's hard to stand by and not be able to do anything to help. Writing gives my mom an outlet and allows both of us to share information during this time. Therefore, we blog :)
