BUSTED BOOB?

SEE, BROKEN THINGS ALWAYS HAVE A STORY, DON'T THEY?

                                                      Sara Pennypacker

Unusual title for this post. Well, it may very well be true. We've all heard of a broken arm, broken nose, broken leg (been there, done that), but I don't think I've ever heard of anyone breaking their boob.

A few weeks ago, I happened to take a look at my body while dressing. The vision I saw in the mirror looked a little wonky. My right breast looked . . . kinda flat. After actually feeling the hardness of said breast, I realized it was quite a bit softer than the left side. Huh. The implants that I received back in 2014 are called "Gummy Bears" because they were of that firm but somewhat pliable consistency. I did not get the silicone models.

I was trying to think what in the world I could have done to mash my right side, and then it hit me!
Just about a year ago, November 3rd, I tripped, fell over Hubby's boots, landed hard face first on the floor, and snapped my right thighbone into. I must have really hit hard on that side and did some damage to my chest, without realizing it. All the nerve endings were cut when I got the cancer removed in 2014 and the implants put in, so there is no feeling in my chest. Huh, again. Okay. So, at that time (a few weeks ago), I called my plastic surgeon's office and asked if I should do something about it. I was told that the doctor or his assistant would call me back. They didn't. I finally called them again last Friday, and was told that he needed to see me to check it out, and would probably order an X-ray. They then called me back and said they would get ahold of me later that day because Doc's main office is now in another city, and he would have to make a special trip to accommodate me at his part-time office in my city where he originated. They would call me back. Okay. They didn't.

So, here I sit with a possibly smashed boob. I really don't think there is danger in it, since it is such a firm material . . . not like it is floating around loose inside my chest.  So, I guess I will call them later and if they don't respond, I will just contact a new doctor.     grrrrrr

OH! LITTLE J WANTED TO MAKE AN APPEARANCE AND SHOW YOU JUST HOW PEACHY SHE'S LOOKING.  Huh

Hey, after my good news about the clean PET scan in the last post (several weeks ago . . .  sorry) Sister Karen sent me congratulations in a very appropriate card. I truly love sunflowers, and this flower is even wearing Sunnies! Thank you, big sister.

I have decided to hit the road, get outta town, go on a vacay! Yup, Nina (BFSILPIC ---Best Friend, Sis-in- Law, Partner in Crime) and I are heading West. Shortly we will be heading to the desert of Nevada. That sweet girl took time off from work the instant I suggested it. She could use a break, too, but she made it clear if I wanted to go somewhere, she was game. It has been two years since we took our last yearly trip. I warned her that she may have to slow down when we are walking, so Limpy Lucy me can keep up. Remember, Nina has long legs, and I don't call her "Strider" for nothing. I am really looking forward to it. I went to town the other day and bought myself a new, hard shell suitcase. I think I had to borrow one of my niece's, for the last vacation I took. It is a nice copper color. Really unusual. And I will be able to spot it quickly on the luggage collection belt thingy at the airport.

I have been away from the computer for quite a while. The politics on TV has me totally mesmerized. I have heard that tons of people are really following the cable news. I wonder if it is healthy. I find myself getting down in the dumps thinking about all that is happening. It is so worrisome. So, while I am staring at the boob tube (pun not intended), I am missing out on lots of things I need to be doing.

I have managed to empty some extra stuff from this house. I took a load of books to the Second Hand Bookstore. I had way too many, and I'd already read them, and don't intend to do it again. So, out they went! And it did make me feel more in control. Chaos is not good for my mental state.

Other than that, the rental business at The Woodbridge Building is going well. I have someone calling me almost every day, wanting to reserve it for something. In fact, I have had to turn away some that wanted it for  certain days that had already been spoken for. Usually, they pick another date.

Oh, speaking of the building . . . I broke a window on one of my French doors. Crap! Evidently I hit it was a rock when I was mowing the yard. It took two weeks for the glass to come in and cost over $500!!!! OUCH! I was NOT expecting that expense. Fortunately, there are two panes of glass on each door. One on the outside and one on the inside. After the glass guy removed all the broken stuff, it just looked like a regular door. Nobody realized that there was one pane missing, while we waited for the new one to arrive. It might have been more apparent if it had been the front door.

And, I must commend Hubby for his care and concern for me and my well-being. He showed me an application that came in the mail the other day.  hahaha  (I think). You don't supposed he called and requested that they send us that form?   uh oh

    Janene...

... was diagnosed with breast cancer on November 11, 2013. This is a place for all of the people who love and care about her to get the information about her treatment and her personal experience of kicking cancer's ass, (sometimes from her daughter's perspective). It's hard to stand by and not be able to do anything to help. Writing gives my mom an outlet and allows both of us to share information during this time. Therefore, we blog :)
