ALWAYS REMEMBER, YOU'RE BRAVER THAN YOU BELIEVE,
STRONGER THAN YOU SEEM,
AND SMARTER THAN YOU THINK.
Christopher Robin
My niece Tina sent me this quote and I love it! She gave it to her son when he went off to college, to encourage him. What a wise gift from a wise lady to someone she loves.
I'm probably going to make this short and quick this morning. Usually, after a treatment, my "symptoms" kick in at three day intervals. Well, I've been lucky, and it's held off until this morning (day six). The water that Jenna got me helps a lot, 'cause it's got magnesium and other things that help rehydrate me. I am thinking maybe I might skip church this morning, but I hate to do that - especially when it's hard for Little Ma to get around in the ice and snow, and she would insist on driving herself. (Also, I really need to go and so some serious thanking for all the great things that are happening to me!). We'll see how the next few hours go.
Basically, I feel pretty decent - it's just the running to the loo thing that gets old. I met a lovely lady at one of my classes and I have since seen her getting chemo at the Ghosh Clinic. As much as I whine about my side-effects, that poor lady has to deal with rectal cancer besides all this fun stuff that goes along with it.
I am also having a devil of a time with my nails. I was told that they would get brittle, but I didn't know that they would just snap off like peanut brittle! I trimmed my toenails, and boy, they are sharp and brittle, too. The least little edge, and they cut right into the flesh. (Hope no one is eating breakfast as I describe such lovely pictures!).My skin is still pretty dry and cracks easily, but I'll keep globbing on the lotion and get through it.
Just got an e-mail from Betty C., so she is up bright and early, too. Good Morning, again, Bet!
P.S. When I first typed out Tina's quote, I put "AND MSARTER THAN YOU THINK" Sure glad I caught that boo-boo
GOD BLESS YOU ALL
